Coming to Round Rock in 2019

New softball fields at Old Settlers Park will replace the old ball fields at McNeil Park as the Nutty Brown Cafe has purchased the park and will open at its new location in 2019 in Round Rock.

The Round Rock City Council on Thursday approved a $2.8 million construction contract with Prime Construction Company for phase one of the recreation complex, which will be located at Old Settlers Park. Funding for the adult recreation complex was included in a 2013 bond election, with part of the funding from the sale of McNeil Park. Nutty Brown Cafe owner Mike Farr purchased the 18.4-acre park in 2015 for $1.1 million to host the live music venue, which is scheduled to open by spring 2019. Voters approved the city to sell the park in a 2006 election.
